Christmas and New Year

Well, the holidays are over now. But we definitely had a good one! We got back from Spain on Christmas Eve to have a nice relaxing evening with Andrew and Lisa eating Indian food and watching a movie. For our compromise of when to open gifts, we decided to open a couple on Christmas Eve and the rest on Christmas morning. We had a surprising amount of gifts to open, considering we are in another country. Thank-you to everyone who sent us cards and/or gifts. It was such a nice surprise getting things from Canada and very much appreciated.

Christmas dinner was excellent. Troë perfected her gravy making this time, with a little help from Lisa. We all sat on the floor around our coffee table for dinner (as we only have two chairs), we even had Christmas crackers. It was nice. We were a little home-sick, but that's to be expected. As there was only the two of us eating Turkey (Andrew and Lisa made Tofu), we had tons left for sandwiches for the next few days. It was a good thing that Andrew and Lisa arrived just in time to replenish Troë's "Miracle Whip" stock.

After Boxing Day, Lisa and Andrew went on to Brighton and then London, and we relaxed for a couple more days before going to Teignmouth again to see John and Ronnie for New Years. It was a nice visit, as it always is.

We had a quiet New Years... we had planned to go out in Teignmouth with John and TA and John's cousin Flik (who's possibly kind of Troë's cousin too) and another friend of theirs. We started off with a few drinks at John's, but apparently John can't hold his booze well and he got, *cough*, kinda sick, so we just stayed in. It was still pretty fun. There was a hectic racing around to find a way to open the champagne just before midnight, but we managed to get it open and poured with 30 seconds to spare.

It was a nice trip, we like going to see them; and perhaps the next time we go, we may have another family member joining us (saRah?)

Everyone is feeling good... except Lani. She is trying to quit smoking and she had to go back to work today.

How about you, Troe? Any work in sight? Did Adam go back tothe dept. store? Hope it all goes well... Love, Dad

Happy New Year's to you!!!We also had a quiet New Year's. Curtis and Kathleen were both out at different parties. Just Dad, me and the cat. Man, we're getting old or domesticated. Can't wait till spring to get the bike on the road. New Year's Day we again played ball hockey ...adults got whopped 11 - 5. Just wait till next year. Everyone back to our house for snacks, then New Year's dinner with the Pattens.
Love to you both.

Hey guys - sounds like you had a good Christmas holiday. Back to work now - ugh! I guess that's why they call it work, if it was fun they'd call it play.
Can't believe it is 2007. Seems like just yesterday we were decorating for Troe's grad 2000. Time flies.
Hope you get some work Troe, and that its not too bad, nor too far from home.
Love you loads, and Happy New Year.
Love MMYT

Okay, I had to write you another note. I am officially home sick for you both. I figured out that by now, if you were in Vancouver, I would have seen you at Thanksgiving and Christmas and probably Adam's birthday as well. that means I am at least 3 visits behind, and am really missing you both today.
Anyway, just to let you know you are loved.

We miss you guys too. I(Troë) worked on Thursday and Friday at a new school that I haven't been to yet. It was ok. Kids still don't really listen, but they weren't quite as bad as Rossmore. So, 2 out of 3 days to work so far isn't bad, hopefully it'll keep up. Adam went back to work too on Thursday.
Mom, since you're missing a few visits, don't you think it's time you made one up???
